Do you think that weapons should be made illegal? Had a very interesting convo with my boyfriend yesterday about this. Weapons like guns are widely used in certain countries and the main “ excuse ” is for protection which automatically gives them the legal right to own one. IF you come to think of it, protection can be made as a very good excuse. Anyone can just simply say, “ it is for my own protection, so gimme the gun! ” With this, the neighbourhood will be filled with gunshots and children crying to sleep full of fear of the outside world.
Maybe you would think that good guys do not use guns but bad guys do. It is not necessary that good guys do not own one. A shopkeeper may own one. A student may own one. Even pedestrians may own one..for the common excuse “ protection ”.
Anything can happen, especially, with a gun on your hand, anything wrong can happen. The fact that a shopkeeper owns a shotgun to prevent robbery can lead to a disaster. say, he misunderstood a customer for stealing and pulls his shotgun out of the shelves. The customer will obviously be scared and run away. In a split second, the shopkeeper may “ think ” that something was stolen and shoots the innocent man down!
Question now: who is guilty? The shopkeeper or the customer?
The mind is a delicate thing and it may lead to things like manipulating the sanctity of life. Particularly with a weapon.
Alternatively, the idea of self-defense may be in terms of learning martial arts. It’s healthy and tones up that beautiful body of ours. A single bullet can penetrate through the heart and kill, but what are the odds of killing by kicking and punching. Possibly, only 1 out 10 that people are killed through martial arts.
Unfortunately, alternatives are not satisfying enough and still people choose to use weapons to kill! How is bloodshed the solution when lives are being lost and everybody just simply wants to play God? no offense if i said anything wrong.your opinions are still appreciable
